SAXON SWITZERLAND
For those who like nature, this tour is a must. The mountain range was named Switzerland in the time when alpinism came into fashion and people started to travel just to see picturesque landscapes. Painters like Caspar David Friedrich and musicians like Richard Wagner and Carl Maria von Weber found much inspiration for their works of art while hiking in these bizarre sandstone mountains. Before the tourist qualities of this area were discovered it had been a wild and remote area. Some castles and fortresses of this era still remain standing. Our tour comprises a visit to the Bastei - the most spectacular of all panoramas in this region. We will also tour the magnificent fortress Koenigstein, where among other things, the largest wine barrel worldwide has been kept since the times of August the Strong.
This tour lasts from 5 hours up to 8 hours and is by group bookings only (1-35 persons). The price ranges from Euro 202,- for the 5 hours tour up to Euro 289,- for the 8 hours tour (per guide). The entrance fees are extra. If there are more than 35 people in the group, then we will arrange for another tour guide.
